Boudoir lingerie for your photoshoot is a very common topic during a client consultation. What do I wear? Who makes lingerie that is flattering and fits my body type? Where can I find the perfect outfit? All normal questions and I’m going to help take you through it so you can make the best decision for you!

Before I go deeper, I want to say that I LOVE helping you choose your boudoir lingerie for your photoshoot. My Great-Grandmother Selma was a bra-fitter until she was 95 and her inspiration is part of how I began photographing boudoir. Helping you choose what works for you reminds me of how many women felt better in her care. That’s absolutely how I want you to feel too. 

There are three options (and clients often will do a combination) when it comes to what to wear at a boudoir shoot with me.

1. Utilize the boudoir studio lingerie closet.
2. Go shopping and take advantage of the Boudoir by Nomi client discount at either Maison Close in Soho or the Rack Shack in Brooklyn
3. Bring a bag (or suitcase) of what you already have.

 

I’ll go a little bit more in-depth with each option

 

1. The studio lingerie closet has outfits in EVERY size. There are teddys, bodysuits, bra/panty sets. You can see some of the options in this post. It’s a combo of sweet and lacy items with more sheer/fierce items. I also have a bunch of robes! Often clients will bring a bra/panty set they love and use a robe over it.

3. Bring whatever lingerie you have in your wardrobe! Literally, bring a suitcase! I think it’s fun to incorporate a piece that you already love and then be able to enjoy it in a new light. 

In the end, what lingerie you wear to your boudoir shoot should be about what YOU feel most comfortable in. Some women even bring a favorite sports jersey or a button down. It’s all part of the creative fun.
