Hey, beauty! I am so looking forward to meeting you in my beautiful Brooklyn studio for your intimate boudoir photography session. Just to make sure that you know you’ll be in safe, nurturing, and experienced hands, I want to tell you a little about myself.
The road to photography
I didn’t grow up expecting to be a photographer. But I fell in love with capturing beauty and the essence of each individual after I took my first photography class during my junior year at Barnard College. Being At Barnard—the women’s college of Columbia University—where I was surrounded by brilliant, empowered women was transformational. I bring that experience to each shoot I do, helping you find your own beauty and empowerment.
While in college, I shot for Columbia Daily Spectator, the renowned student newspaper. My talent was quickly recognized as several of my photos were chosen for the front page by the editors. This led to my post-grad internship in the photo department at Time Out New York. Surrounded by the diversity and beauty of New York City, I honed my personal and intimate style. It was thrilling to have this photo at a Justin Bieber concert go viral and receive more than 640 comments.
The road to my big break
My big break was shooting New York City’s Fashion Week. What started as a one-off project became a six-season gig, thanks to my ability to capture the unique essence of each model. The entertainment assignments editor at Getty Images—a premier visual media company—took note of my Fashion Week work and hired me to photograph red carpets. My photos were published in high-end glossy magazines including Rolling Stone, Us Weekly, Fortune and People.
The road to boudoir photography
Working at Cosmopolitan.com’s full-time social media photographer strengthen my skills in seizing the moment to press shoot on my camera. I know just when my subject looks her best. At the same time I was shooting all over New York City, I had a side hustle with modeling agencies who hired me to photograph models so they could have new photos for their book. Part of this included my helping the models choose and dress in lingerie.
Boudoir started as my hobby. But as I shot more and more intimate photographs throughout New York City, I realized that boudoir photography truly aligns with my values. I am committed to celebrating everyone’s individual beauty. My work is all about empowering women. There is no need to fit into a certain box—whether that box is race, ethnicity, size, age or anything else that holds us back—in order to be celebrated.
The road leads to you
In the past four years as a full-time boudoir photographer, my achievements have included: New York Foundation’s Artist as Entrepreneur recipient; National Arts Club speaker about “Art, Business, and Sex;” and photographing the cover for The New York Times best-selling book, Single State of Mind.
The achievement of which I am most proud is creating an atmosphere and experience in my Brooklyn boudoir studio that has helped the more than 450 women I have photographed feel better about themselves. I hope that I can add you to that list of women. Together, we will create magic!
