Led by Morit Summers and Nomi Ellenson May
A four-night strength, self-expression, joy, and body-trust retreat
Jamaica Retreat
Nomi Ellenson is a boudoir photographer, author, and body-awareness advocate whose work helps people see themselves with more honesty, agency, and tenderness. She founded Boudoir by Nomi in Brooklyn in 2016 and has since photographed more than 1,000 bodies across ages, sizes, identities, and life experiences.
Nomi’s approach to photography is consent-led, highly guided, and grounded in the belief that being seen should never require abandoning your boundaries. Her work moves beyond conventional ideas of “flattering” to create images that feel present, expressive, and true to the person in front of her camera.
She is the author of the children’s book I Love My Body Because, co-written with Shelly Anand, and the creator and host of the podcast Because I Love My Body. Nomi lives between Brooklyn and Jamaica, where she photographs, creates, and raises her family.
Nomi believes body confidence is not a permanent state or a prerequisite for living fully. It is something we can practice through choice, curiosity, and allowing ourselves to be seen as we are.
Morit Summers has been a personal trainer since 2007, defying narrow fitness-industry standards through her abilities, expertise, and deeply inclusive approach. She holds a B.S. in Exercise Science and Kinesiology and certifications including NSCA-CPT and CrossFit Level 1.
Morit began her career at the State University of New York at Cortland before joining Equinox Fitness, where she progressed to Tier 3+ trainer and taught incoming classes of personal trainers. In 2016, she founded Morit Summers Personal Training, and in 2018 she co-founded Form Fitness Brooklyn.
Her clients range from people beginning their fitness journeys to seasoned athletes. Morit is also an expert fitness consultant and the author of Big & Bold: Strength Training for the Plus-Size Woman. She has been featured by Shape, Health, SELF, FabUplus, and Good Day New York, as well as in campaigns for brands including TRX and lululemon. She has also served as a lululemon city ambassador and guest trainer on lululemon Studio.
Morit believes strength belongs to every body—and that good coaching should help people expand what feels possible, not make them feel as though they need to become someone else first.

Meet your retreat leaders
Morit Summers
So much of what we are taught about our bodies begins with correction: take up less space, look different, work harder, wait until you feel more confident.
This retreat begins somewhere else—and it is going to be a lot more fun.
For four nights in Jamaica, we will step away from the pressure to improve our bodies and create space to actually enjoy inhabiting them. Through inclusive strength training, yoga and mobility, photography, creativity, nature, nourishing meals, and honest conversation, Morit and Nomi will guide you toward a relationship with your body rooted in capability, curiosity, expression, and trust.
You do not have to arrive loving every part of yourself. You do not need to be fit, flexible, fearless, or comfortable in front of a camera. You only need a willingness to meet yourself where you are.
This is not a before-and-after retreat.
It is an experience of being fully here—now.
You do not need to shrink to become stronger.
JOIN US IN JAMAICA
This is not a retreat spent sitting in a circle talking about your insecurities.
Yes, there will be meaningful conversations and space to reflect. There will also be music, swimming, clay under your fingernails, beach photos, delicious meals, big laughs, new friendships, and moments when nobody is “working on themselves” at all.
We believe joy is part of the work. Play is part of the work. Trying something new, getting a little messy, wearing something fabulous, laughing until your stomach hurts, and remembering that your body is also the place from which you experience pleasure—those things matter, too.
You can come for the deeper experience. You can also come because Jamaica is beautiful, you want to feel strong, and this sounds like an incredible way to spend four nights.
This is meant to be fun.
Many of us understand body acceptance intellectually, yet still organize our lives around becoming different. We postpone the bathing suit, the photograph, the pleasure, the movement, or the visibility until we feel more “ready.” This retreat is a chance to stop postponing—and enjoy some of those things together.
At Home in Your Body is an invitation to stop waiting.
Together, we will explore what it feels like to:
Move for strength, energy, and pleasure—not punishment
Be photographed without having to perform or perfect yourself
Notice the stories you have inherited about size, beauty, fitness, and worth
Reconnect with play, creativity, and the natural world
My goal is for your experience to feel effortless from the moment you arrive, so you can relax, enjoy your time on the island, and focus on creating meaningful photographs you'll treasure for years to come.
What might change when your body is no longer a problem to solve?
What might change
Practice taking up space in a supportive community
Leave with tangible ways to feel more empowered in your everyday life
Nomi has photographed more than 1,000 bodies and has seen the same truth again and again: there is no correlation between body size and confidence.
During the retreat, guests will have the opportunity to be photographed in a way that feels personal, collaborative, playful, and fully guided. You do not need to know how to pose. You do not need to wear lingerie. You do not need to show more of your body than feels right to you.
You can be playful, powerful, soft, covered, bare, quiet, glamorous, joyful—or simply curious. Bring the swimsuit, flowing dress, bright color, lingerie, favorite T-shirt, or outfit you have been waiting for a reason to wear. You remain in charge of what the experience looks like and whether your images are ever shared
PHOTO DELIVERABLE: one 20-minute portrait session and three edited digital images per guest and add-ons available.
A photoshoot built around consent—not performance
You will not be pushed to keep up, earn your meals, or change the size of your body. You will be encouraged to try, laugh, surprise yourself, and discover that strength can feel genuinely good.
Morit’s sessions are designed to be challenging in ways that remain adaptable and choice-led. Strength, yoga, and mobility practices will include options for different levels of experience, energy, and ability. Rest is part of the practice. Modifying is part of the practice. Listening to yourself is part of the practice.
Whether you are new to movement, returning after time away, or already experienced, the goal is the same: to discover more of what your body can do, build trust in the way you move through the world, and have a good time doing it.
A different kind of movement experience
The retreat takes place at Good Hope. For four nights, we will gather in the lush countryside of Trelawny on Jamaica's north coast, surrounded by open views, tropical greenery, and the slower rhythm of island life.
Nomi has lived between Brooklyn and Good Hope since 2025 and will be welcoming guests into a place that is part of her everyday life.Good Hope offers space to gather and space to retreat, with access to a private beach, pools, nature preserve, pottery studio, and the Martha Brea River. It is approximately 1 hour from Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay.
The island shapes the retreat with care: guests will experience Jamaica not as a backdrop, but as a place with its own culture, history, creativity, and community.
